Broncos End Crusade With Win 11/12/06

For YTL 2006 season, if you arrived late to a Bronco game, chances are you have missed their first touchdown. And it was no different in their final game as the Mitey-Mite Broncos came out and pounced on Monroe-Woodbury.
Lead back Devonte Banner(24) initiated the scoring on the third play of the game with a 60 yard touchdown around left end after taking the handoff from quaterback Danny Pistolesi(22). The extra point pass attempt by Pistolesi was incomplete, and the Broncos were ahead 6-0 before spectators were back from the concession stand. The Bronco defensee then stiffened up with big hits by Isaiah Washington(2), Daniel Williams(86) Nigel Bailey(70) standing out. Monroe-Woodbury was able to hold Bronco offense from scoring despite continued strong runs by Dean Tomarelle(21), DannyPistolesi(22) and Devonte Banner (24). The rain began in the second quarter and Monroe-Woodbury was able to move the football and scored on a burst up the middle. Tomarelle prevented the Crusaders from taking the lead by intercepting the extra point pass attempt.

The two teams battled for field position in the second half as Bronco defenders Coughlin Haitam(27) and Kobe Gathers(50) dominated. Banner(24) then took control again on offense sprinted 60 yards up the middle of the Crusader defense, breaking tackles on the way, for the winning touchdown. The Crusaders attempted a comeback but were intercepted by Danny Pistolesi(22).

Because Mitey-Mite level teams are not eligible for Bowl games the Broncos season ended with this game.
