Our NRYTL teams head into the last regular season game with a combined 24-7 record (4 teams). The Jr. Pee wee's, Pee Wees and Jr.
Midgets are preparing to enter the New York state Empire Playoffs beginning on November 10th. This single elimination tournament pitts 32 Pop Warner teams split in two divisions from across New York State who compete for a championship game in Upstate New York
on the weekend before Thanksgiving (24th/25th). Photos coming soon.
MITE-MITE
The Mitey -mites continued their march towards a perfect record with wins versus Monroe, North Rockland, Orangetown and New City.
The offense attack has been lead by Dumyr Decime, (who missed a few games but returned in form) and Justin Joly running. Tariq Benjamin has lead the quarterbacking with help from Austin Luzzi. Taylor Rhett, Jonathan Yoguez, Henderson Clarke and Kenney Harris Jr. lead the way on with blocking. On defense, Jordan Chaverez,and veteran Henderson Clarke lead the way. The Mitey-mites will conclude their season at New City I looking to have a perfect season!
JR PEE WEE
The Jr. Pee Wees have improved to 6-2 entering their final game against Ramapo. Wins against New City, Valley Cottage and Bayonne were surrounded by a tough 14-8 loss to Monroe. Quarterback Jaheim Gregory sets the pace for the Purple Wave offense with help from Jason 'Shady' McGhee, who can score from anywhere on the filed.
Evan Falco and Nick Miceli pull in Gregory passes with help from Caroline Davis. Bryce Boahene, Sebastian Brandon, Luke Sgobbo, Breyon Williams and Jeremiah Adme help block upfront. Ali Paul,Fenesse Dennis and Joshua Adme lead the defensive side of the ball with help from Jonathan Doubrava, Jebocko Perkins and Mason Crovato. The Jr. Pee wees will enter the New York State playoffs beginning on November 10th.
PEE WEE
After a slow start to the season. the Pee Wees have rebounded with a 4-1 record over the past five weeks, beating Monroe twice, and Ramapo, and New Jersey once. Quarterback Antonee Abraham takes the handoff from center Kristen Lewis and starts the offense each play. Ray Dixon has become the workhorse back with the elusive Omari Walker scoring on the ground and via passes from Abraham. Kemar Williams-Mclaren, Aaron Nelson, Samuel Hall and Perron Gregory handle the upfront blocking. Defensively Kayshawn Thomas,
Sincere Thomas and Corey Baron,and Ethan Ortiz, have lead the way in the Purple wave's season. The Pee Wees will enter the New York State playoffs in division II beginning on the weekend of Novemeber 10th. this group advanced to the quarter-finals last season as Jr. Pee Wee's and are looking to go further this year.
JR MIDGET
The Jr. Midgets enter the final weekend of the seaon on a 7 game winning streak. After a opening game loss the Purple Wave offense has averaged over 30 points per game. Jaylin McGhee has taken hold of the quarterbacking and has run and passed for touchdowns in each game played. Myles Taylor, Jamal Dallas and Jordan Forrest have become the long run hitters, while the hard running of Myles Taylor and Kenny Torain move the chains for the Purple Wave.
Jihad Clarke, Jaheim Jones, Vincent Ruggiero, Andrew Link and Isaiah Ashman control the front line for the Purple Wave. Khairi Manns returned to help the defense mid-season while Morgan Paul, Aaron Cadle, Jaishon Spady, Mikey Williams, Nikosamori Decime, and Storm Jones-Alleyne helped shutdown opponents on the win streak. The
Jr. Midgets will also enter the New York State playoffs in division II beginning on the weekend of Novemeber 10th.
